This is where I will post any observations of Tiger and jaws, as well as anything else intresting.

Observations:
Food Preferances:

WARDLEY(R) Tropical Slow Sinking CRUMBLES(tm), Cucumber, Lettuce, and the occaasional bit of cruchy carrot

Activities:

Doing the "loachy dance" (swim up to the top, back to the bottom, swim back to the top, back down again)

See "tag" under games

Games:

T&J both enjoy chewing on this Wodden stick I have, I stick it in there and they start to nibble on it quite a bit.

Another game they play is "HELP! I'M BEING SUCKED INTO THE FILTER!" where they try to get my attention by just siting there and being pulled back twords the filter. Then they swim away, then repeat this over and over and over until they give up

"Tag" is another game. They chase each other around, and if they corner the other, they click a lot at each other, then run away. The other loach has been "tagged" and they have to catch the other.

Ever since I got them their bubble wall, they've been playing in it whenever I turn it on. When I'm away, (out of the house) I turn it off so they can sleep without the noise of the air pump going on. They do the "loachy dance" whenever I turn it on, and then start trying to do the dance in the bubbles. Because the air is comming up from the bottom, they have to slow down whenever they swim up, and speed up when they go down. This proved to be a problem when I turned it off one time while they were dancing. They were heading down, and I stoped the bubbles, which caused them to suddenly zoom down twords the gravel. Fortunately they swerved to the side just in time and didn't hit their heads.

Favorite Things:
Wardley (r) tropical slow sinking crumbles. Can't get enough of them...

Other Stuff I use:
NovAqua instant conditioner & Fish Protector
TOP FIN Premium Quality Aquarium Gravel
4" Bubble Wand from "unkown brand" and air pump
A little 4 inch by 6 inch mirror that they can stare at for hours if you let them...

Other Things I see:

Discoloring/lightening up:
When they wake up and start swimming around, sometimes their colors are slighly lighter, but it returns to normal in about 5 minutes. See "Tiger by Bubblewall" on the photos page for an example. This also happens when I leave their light on too long... but they don't seem to mind.

Loud Clicking:
It always scares me, even though it is normal behavior. They do this at each other to say "I'm the boss around here" or "leave me alone!". Sometimes I think they are fighting because they seem to be nipping at each other, but there never is any blood, scars, strange movements or inactivity aftewards, so it isn't anything bad. Loud clicking also happens when they are hungry and are yelling at me, even as early as 4:45 A.M when I'm trying to sleep!
